A27 Chichester bypass – overnight closures for resurfacing – Monday 9th October to Thursday 2nd November 2023

As part of our work to maintain the A27, we’ll soon be carrying out resurfacing, and improvements to reduce the risk of skidding, on the Chichester bypass.  This work is critical to maintaining and improving safety.

Closure information 

All closures are between 8pm and 6am, dates are inclusive:

 

  • Monday 9 to Thursday 12 & Tuesday 17 to Thursday 19 October: overnight closures of the A27 Chichester bypass northbound between the Bognor Roundabout (A259 junction) and the Portfield Roundabout. Diversion via Bognor Road (A259), A286 and A285.
  • Friday 20 October & Wednesday 25 October to Thursday 2 November: weeknight closures of the A27 Chichester bypass southbound between the Portfield Roundabout and the Bognor Roundabout (A259 junction). Diversion via the A285, A286 and Bognor Road (A259).

 

The Portfield and Bognor roundabouts will remain open as usual during the closures.

This work is subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress.
