A twitten (in Sussex) is a narrow path or passage between two walls or hedges.  We have lots of them in Aldwick and they are used as pedestrian shortcuts or for people walking their dogs.  If you're a dog-walker, please remember to carry a poop bag and to use it to keep Aldwick clean.  Fines for dog fouling are in operation.
