Save the date!
The Annual Parish Assembly takes place on Tuesday 5th May at 6.30pm – this is a gathering facilitated by the council on behalf of residents, not a council meeting, and a chance for you to meet your council and ask questions. As well as brief reports from the council we usually try to have a talk on a topic of local interest. Got something you’d like to say? The floor is yours and we look forward to welcoming you. It’s helpful to have written questions in advance if possible, the better to answer them on the night, but impromptu questions are fine too.
Free children’s activities coming to Aldwick!
Skateboard coaching, Avisford Park
As mentioned last month, we’re excited to bring back these free skateboard coaching sessions for youngsters in the Easter school break – actually any age is welcome! South Coast Skate Club CIC will be at Avisford Park skatepark from Tuesday 7th to Friday 10th April, 10.30am-12.30pm, and 2pm-4pm. Come along to improve skills or learn from scratch. Helmets and boards can be borrowed – elbow/knee pads are limited so if you have your own we encourage wearing them.
We’re hoping to arrange both skate coaching and other play/sports activities for youngsters again over the summer breaks too, look out for announcements here. One already coming our way is below:
Active Play, West Meads
Freedom Leisure will be running an active play session at Queens Field recreation ground, West Meads, on Thursday 28th May 10-12pm. Full details available soon, watch out for further announcements here.
Dementia Advice Bus
The Community Wayfinder Advice Bus is back on Thursdays 9th April, 7th May and 4th June, offering professional support and advice about dementia. It will be in the car park at Pryors Lane (behind Grove House Surgery, Library, Community Centre and Parish Council) from 10am-12pm. Drop in to speak to a Wayfinder about dementia or visit www.dementiasupport.org.uk/bus for more information.
Councillor Surgery
Our regular drop-ins for residents on the last Friday of the month in the Council meeting room, 10am-12noon, are a great chance to have a chat with one or two of your council members if you’ve got something you’d like to discuss or just want to meet them. The next one is Friday 24th April 2026. Residents have raised several things at these, such as advice on clearing overgrown vegetation, and parking issues. Don’t forget also, you can observe and ask questions at council meetings - see below for next meeting dates.
